Photograph the wild Iberian Lynx in its natural habitat
4 full days in top Lynx hides + guidance by Álvaro Peral
In Sierra Morena, where the largest populations of Iberian Lynx occur
Iberian Lynx Photography Tour
This 6-days/5-nights Iberian Lynx photography tour is designed for wildlife photographers that aim to get top quality Iberian Lynx photos. Prime and renown Lynx hides will be available during 4 days. Your guide will also take you into some of the best places where to encounter Iberian Lynx in their wild territories.
We will meet in Málaga in the morning (around 9 am) and drive till our single base (around 3h + stops). Our first expedition will take place in the afternoon, exploring some Lynx territories in Sierra Morena.
We'll get to our hotel with time enough to unpack before dinner.
Today you will enjoy the first photography session from a hide.
Another day trying to get Iberian Lynx from photography hides.
Another fantastic day of Lynx hides.
After a relaxed breakfast we will head south towards Málaga, where the tour ends. You can plan to be back in Málaga at around 2 pm. Of course if times allows for all group participants, we'll enjoy the first hours of the morning to look for Lynx, Otter or other wildlife.
NOTE: Please note a few other drop off points might be a possibility, such as Córdoba. Likewise, trippers could consider getting a train to Madrid. Madrid is connected to Córdoba by a comfortable short drive on a fast-train (more info on www.renfe.com).
The Lynx hides
We work with the best few companies offering top quality Lynx photography hides. These wooden hides are equipped with top-quality spyglass. Standard hide capacity is 2 photographers, but other hides are either individual or can host more than 2 people. You should not expect to find WCs in the hide and should be capable of using alternative means.
You will try several different hides throughout the tour. We can't provide specific hide names until a few days prior to the trip as we aim to provide the best available Lynx hide at the given moment. Last-minute hide status is much appreciated.
You will need to bring with you:
- Camera with lenses in the 200-600 mm range (best from 400 to 600 mm).
- A second camera as a back-up is recommended.
- Plenty of batteries and memory cards for long hide sessions.
- Tripod if you want to shoot video.
- Plenty of arm clothing
- Dark gloves and camouflage clothing
- A bunch of patience and good humour in adverse conditions
